8.      What web search problems have you encountered before? Please share some with your group members and see if you can find solutions now. Each group needs to report at least two common problems and your solutions (if you have found them).

1                   1.  The three search engines that we frequently use, are :
-          Google.com :
Google is the undisputed king of 'spartan searching'. While it doesn't offer all the shopping center features of Yahoo!, Google is fast, relevant, and the largest single catalogue of Web pages available today. Make sure you try the Google 'images', 'maps' and 'news' features... they are outstanding services for locating photos, geographic directions, and news headlines.

-          Yahoo.com :
Yahoo! is several things: it is a search engine, a news aggregator, a shopping center, an emailbox, a travel directory, a horoscope and games center, and more. This 'web portal' breadth of choice makes this a very helpful site for Internet beginners. Searching the Web should also be about discovery and exploration, and Yahoo! delivers that in wholesale quantities.

-          Bing .com :
Bing is Microsoft's attempt at unseating Google. Bing used to be MSN search until it was updated in summer of 2009. Touted as a 'decision engine', Bing tries to support your researching by offering suggestions in the leftmost column, while also giving you various search options across the top of the screen. Things like 'wiki' suggestions, 'visual search', and 'related searches' might be very useful to you. Bing is not dethroning Google in the near future, no. But Bing is definitely worth trying.

However, the most often search engine that we use is google.com . The reason is , It has more useful features, such as:  article, Image, book references, translation, map and even online shops, so we can easily derive wider information . For example, If we want to search the image of garden, then Google will not provide limited image but it will give us almost unlimited kind of garden with various size and color options.

Besides it, Google is accessible for the beginner of Internet users. The beginners may be confused if the result of what they need to seek is unrelated. So, they should use Google rather than any other search engines. Because Google tends to give deeply explanation and related to what they need.

2.      The differences that we may find when we enter keyword or phrase in quote is the source result. Google tends to give us information based on educational essay or article, rather than yahoo, which tends to give us the result which is related to entertainment media that might be totally different from our expectation result. Such as, when I entered the keyword “hole in the whole “. Then Google and Bing have different result. Google give me more about what I expect, that hole in the wall in the new invasion of India scientist and some news which is related to it. While yahoo gives me the information of “ hole in the wall games and video “, which tends to entertainment media.

3 3.    The search engine supports the logical "OR" operator. To retrieve pages that include either word A or word B, use an uppercase "OR" between terms. For example, to search for either London or Colindale, enter:
24.     There are no specific function of each signs. even the search engine can read the sign and just show the words without the signs.

5.  the meaning of each domain are:
.com    : .com describes that a web site has some kind of "commercial" intent. This is what we call a "top level domain" address, and it used to be a way for a web site to convey its publishing intent.
.edu     : .edu describes that a web site has some kind of "educationl" intent. This is what we   call a "top level domain" address
.gov     : The domain name gov is a sponsored top-level domain (sTLD) in the Domain Name System of the Internet. The name is derived from government.
.org     : The domain name org is a generic top-level domain (gTLD) of the Domain Name System (DNS) used in the Internet. The name is truncated from organization. The domain extension was originally created for non-profits, but this designation no longer exists and today it is commonly used by schools, open-source projects, and communities as well as by for-profit entities.
.net      : The domain name net is a generic top-level domain (gTLD) used in the Domain Name System of the Internet. The name is derived from network, indicating its originally intended purpose was for organizations involved in networking technologies, such as Internet service providers and other infrastructure companies.
.mil      : The domain name mil is the sponsored top-level domain (sTLD) in the Domain Name System of the Internet for the United States Department of Defense and its subsidiary or affiliated organizations. The name is derived from military. It was one of the first top-level domains, created in January 1985.[1]

·         In some search engine, there will be a menu for picture. By using this menu, the result of what we search is all in the form of picture.
7.      In addition to providing easy access to billions of web pages, many search engines also provide a number of special features to help people find what they want more efficiently.
